Komatsu is a global leader in manufacturing construction, mining, forestry, and industrial heavy equipment. Known to explore and advance the boundaries of technology within heavy machinery, they sought extra space to store and service their plant.
The Project Brief
With varying types of machinery and various site locations, Komatsu needed to expand their existing space to accommodate a new workshop area. The workshop was to be used for heavy vehicle maintenance and storage. With a range of machinery, they required a robust structure that would ensure that their machinery and people were protected from the elements. The project had to be completed within a strict budget while ensuring the shelter met all necessary specifications and requirements.
Our Shelter Solution
Having worked with the Komatsu team, our team originally proposed a larger 21m wide container-mounted shelter. However, after hearing that they had to be within budget constraints, our team proposed the following shelter, which still met their needs.
- Express Range, Container Mounted Shelter measuring 17m wide x 12.19m long by 7.28m high (SSA17122-E)
- 1x Partial Endwall, which was non-wind rated
- The shelter was designed and engineered to Wind Region A
