Australia is prone to some of the most extreme and unpredictable weather conditions in the world, meaning that you need to ensure your shelter is built to the standards required for your area. Cyclones are a common threat in many parts of the country, meaning we have had to engineer our shelters to suit these conditions if they hit correctly. Across Australia, the rate of cyclones and strong winds differ, suggesting that Wind Regions had to be created to distinguish between locations, which is extremely important when investing in an Allshelter structure.
Wind Regions are determined by letters A, B, C and D, and are calculated based on location and the distance from the coast. Our e-com range can be built for two of the four wind regions, A and C.
- Region A shelters are built for winds up to 147.6km/h and are used in most of Australia with minimal threat of cyclonic activity.
- Region C shelters are built for winds up to 204.5km/h, meaning they can withstand most ordinary cyclones.

When finding your Wind Region, locate where your shelter will be installed and see the correlating region. Region A is grey or white, Region B is orange, Region C is blue, and Region D is red.
The coasts of Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland and the north coast of New South Wales are the areas most at risk of being affected by cyclones and strong winds, being in Region B and above. The rest of Australia is Region A, meaning that they are less affected by wind extremities.
